New Student Loan Programs
Congressman Mike Quigley sends regular updates to the office. In this update, changes to student loan repayment have recently gone into effect.
Many constituents are feeling the pinch of our current economic downturn and are unable to attend college out of financial fear. It is hoped that these benefits will help ease the burden and allow more students to choose college.
- Highlights of new student loan program include:
- Income-based caps on monthly payments
- Higher Pell Grant scholarships
- Cheaper interest rates
- Loan forgiveness for public service professionals

For over 25 years the Illinois Governmental Internship Program has provided high school students with the unique opportunity to spend a semester of their senior year exploring their career interests while working for various local, state, and national government agencies.
