I vow to represent the unified voice of our community in Springfield as we address these concerns and improve our community. Together, we will ensure that our neighborhoods continue to grow and develop so that our community surpasses all others as the best place in Chicago to live, work and raise a family.
This is the community where I was raised. Growing up in these neighborhoods, my family instilled in me a passion for public service. I was always inspired by my mother’s dedication to the strong values that she taught me — honesty and trust — values that we desperately need from our leaders in Springfield.
My top legislative priorities are to:
- provide relief to working families hardest hit by the current economic crisis
- provide affordable access to healthcare to all Illinois families
- strengthen our state’s commitment to funding education
- protect and expand rights for women, LGBTs, and minorities
- support initiatives that expand public safety across the state
